Milwaukee Brewers Extend World Series Celebration to Lambeau Field During Packers Game

Just a day after securing their historic first World Series championship, the Milwaukee Brewers extended their celebratory tour approximately 120 miles north to Lambeau Field.

During Thursday night's Green Bay Packers game against the Carolina Panthers, Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff proudly carried the Commissioner's Trophy onto the field as the first quarter concluded. He was joined by fellow teammates Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick, who participated in the festivities.

Frelick particularly embraced the occasion, delighting the Packers crowd by performing his own version of the iconic Lambeau Leap.

Downtown Milwaukee Prepares for Parade

The city of Milwaukee is anticipating a major event on Friday, with thousands of supporters expected to gather along city streets for a victory parade honoring the Brewers' long-awaited championship.

Milwaukee Public Schools, the largest district in Wisconsin, confirmed it would be closed on Friday. The district cited operational and safety considerations for the decision, which also provides students and staff the chance to attend the celebratory parade.

The planned parade route will navigate through downtown Milwaukee, culminating in a fan festival at Henry Maier Festival Park.

Packers' Championship Drought in Focus

While the Brewers celebrate, the Green Bay Packers are undoubtedly looking to emulate such success, particularly as they have not secured or even appeared in a Super Bowl since the 2010 season.

With the Brewers' Game 5 World Series triumph against the Tampa Bay Rays, combined with the Milwaukee Bucks' 2021 NBA Finals victory, the Packers now hold the distinction of the longest championship drought among Wisconsin's prominent men's professional sports franchises.

Green Bay entered Thursday evening's contest following a Week 7 defeat to the Detroit Lions. The Panthers initially took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. However, the Packers rallied, establishing a 20-10 lead by halftime and further extending their advantage to 27-10 by the third quarter.
